Limp Bizkit have announced that they are
jumping into bed with Nicki Minaj. In a business sense, that is. The
Jacksonville quintet has reportedly signed to the Cash Money label -
home to the pink-wigged wonder that is Minaj. The Cash Money Records'
lynchpin LIL' WAYNE broke the news on a radio show last night (February 23, 2012) and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst later appeared to confirm the news.
LIL' WAYNE telephoned into Lenny Green's 'Kissing After Dark,' and was
introduced to listeners by Green as "one of the most respected rap
artists in the game." LIL' WAYNE told Lenny Green and his listeners that
he discovered the radio show when he was incarcerated. He then went on
to say "I just found out Limp Bizkit signed to Cash Money," adding
"they're signing everybody." LIL' WAYNE also tentatively announced that
the thinks the label is also working with the R&B singer Ashanti.
Limp Bizkit's frontman Fred Durst then seemed to confirm the news in a
series of cryptic tweets, one of which read "The game is missing danger,
electricity, and rock n roll!!!!" Cash Money Limp Bizkit" and another
saying "Rock shit doesn't rock anymore! They say the whole game done
went pop so I'm back in this ho! Cmlb." The last album release from Limp
Bizkit was in 2010, when they reunited with guitarist Wes Borland to
release Gold Cobra, which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard chart.

New Song!!!! Nicki Minaj: Beware Roman has Reloaded
Well critics asked for it. They have awaken the beast. Nicki Minaj has taken us back to the fierce female rapper who was sitting on the steps in Queens NY freestyling. She has just released "Roman Reloaded" and has the YMCMB El Presidente Lil Wayne to assist her on this track and Wayne goes hard as usual. She's answering the critics who told her she went pop. She's answering the critics with penetrating rhymes like "I Take bitches to school, then I Columbine these hoes".
Nicki made some Raggedy Ann references so its safe to say that Lil Kim was in her eye sight while making this track. She also referenced being in the top 5 hottest MC's which also tells us she made this song less than a week ago. Many will say why is she still going at Kim. Personally I see no issue, it was Kimmy Blanco who said she wasn't going to take her foot off Nicki's neck. It seems to be the other way around.
Knowone can say this is pop. Its good to know Nicki can switch it up whenever she wants and still get the same reaction from her fans & foes. I'm sure there are gonna be plenty of people who is not gonna like this song. But I'm sure it will be the same ones who don't like any songs from her, so that is no surprise.

Drake & Common Squash Beef "Man 2 Man"
Despite speculation claiming Drake and Common
had harsh words toward one another at last weekend's Grammy Awards
ceremony in Los Angeles, new reports claim the two hip-hop stars
actually squashed recent tensions.
According to new reports, the rappers came face-to-face last Sunday (February 12).
Streetz Iz Watchin has learned that Common and Drake actually squashed their beef at the Grammys, clearing up previous reports that the two rappers almost got into a violent altercation. Apparently, both Drake and Common's entourages happened to be in the same area at the end of the Grammy red carpet, near where artists were being distributed their VIP credentials to enter the Staples Center, according to a source in the latter's camp. Common felt it was awkward for two men that had exchanged words in song to be in the same vicinity without saying anything to each other. With the two eyeballing each other intensely, Common asked Drake, "What's up?" Drake responded with a "What's up?" of his own, and Common tried to approach him with the intent of speaking to the Toronto rapper one on one. (Hip Hop Wired)Despite some initial confusion, they came together and squashed their problems.
However, Drake's security and other members of his entourage defensively intervened in his progress. Allegedly Drake said, "Yo, I grew up listening to this dude, what's the problem?," while his security was telling Common, "We respect you, this isn't necessary." But Common wanted to talk to Drake "man to man," angered that two rivals would cross paths and just not speak. One of the members of Drake's crew turned out to be his father, Dennis Graham, who told Common the two artists "need to cut this out, y'all are better than this." According to the source, the elder Graham's intervention made Com change his approach, with cooler heads prevailing and the two rappers eventually going off to the side and speaking to each other alone. Holding true to the words he said in an interview moments before, Common and Drake exchanged pounds, and told everyone in their respective camps the beef had been squashed. Now If we can get Nicki and Kim together.

Young Money Signs Christina Milian, Weezy Takes Shot at Jay-z & Kanye West
Lil Wayne announced the signing of a new member to Young Money
Saturday night (February 11) while performing alongside Drake during the
annual Cash Money Grammy weekend party. The YMCMB head Honcho also took
the time to honor the memory of the late, great Whitney Houston, who
passed away earlier that night, and to take jabs at Jay-Z and Kanye
West.
“I got the beautiful Christina Milian with me,” Weezy said while onstage, backed by the likes of manager Cortez Bryant, Young Money president Mack Maine, Corey Gunz, Lil Twist and others. “Young Money, Christina Milian.”
Lil Tunechi also took the time to thank his team for their contribution to the label’s success, but not before asking for a moment of silence for Whitney Houston, who was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. after being found in her hotel room in Hollywood, California, just hours before mentor Clive Davis’ annual Grammy party was scheduled to take place. The event was cancelled.
The evening wasn’t complete until Wayne took time out to throw some jabs at Hov, rapping at the end of his announcement about signing Christina Milian, “I met a red-bone, I took the girl home/I asked her what she wanna watch, she said, ‘surely not The Throne,” to roars from the crowd.
Lil Wayne is up for a couple of Grammys, including Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for DJ Khaled’s “I’m on One.” Stay tune to StreetzIzWatchin for a full recap of the Grammys Sunday (Februabry 12).

The married couple surprised fans with photos of their newborn Friday (February 10) night.
Rapper Jay-Z and wife Beyonce unveiled highly-anticipated pictures of their new baby daughter Blue Ivy Carter on Friday, opting to post intimate family shots on social networking site Tumblr rather than selling them to the highest bidder. (Reuters)Included with the photos is a personal message courtesy of Young Hov.
A series of five intimate images show two photos of a peaceful baby girl with a swath of dark hair wrapped in blankets, two photos each showing Beyonce and Jay-Z by themselves holding Blue Ivy in a cream-colored onesie, and a final, touching photo of adult fingertips touching the baby's tiny hand. Petition to Nicki Minaj "Marilyn Monroe Song must be on PF:RR"
Okay, so by now I'm sure you have all heard the leaked snippet of Nicki Minaj's song with the unofficial title of "Marilyn Monroe".
Also if you are a regular reader of this blog then you know that the official group that handles Ms. Monroes Estate gave Nicki a seal of approval via twitter for her appearance during her Super Bowl performance with the iconic Madonna and fellow femcee M.I.A.
So here we are today, Nicki is nominated for 3 Grammy awards and has released information stating she will be performing new music from her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (Which I already ordered). She will be performing her new song entitled "Roman Holiday" during her grammy performance. and also will be dropping a new single entitled "Starships"
Okay so let me tell you why I am nervous. In the recent past we have heard little snippets of songs from Nicki, we have also heard some unofficial tracks from Nicki that has never blossomed into a full official song. Now back to this Marilyn Monroe song. This song is the f*cking bizness. I believe that this is one songs that should not fall by the wayside. The song is beautiful, its heartfelt and I will go as far as to say that this song is important.
So what I have decided to do is create this article as a petition to Nicki Minaj to make this a full song, if she hasn't already. As far as we know she could have completed this song and its already on the tracklist or on the her delux version. But this is just a precaution just in case she didn't do it.
So please show your support and send this article to Nicki on twitter or however other means you can communicate with her to show her you support her and you really want this song as an official track on her album.
I ___________________ am in support of Onika Tanya Maraj AKA Nicki Minaj making her song "Marilyn Monroe" and official song on her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. By forwarding this article, making this paragraph a screenshot, or by copying and pasting this statement I here by constitute this action as me signing this petition for her to make this an official song.

Rappers To Perform In Detroit to Honor J-Dilla
On the sixth anniversary of Jay Dee’s death on Feb. 10, the Fillmore Detroit will host Dilla Day Detroit, a celebration recognizing the Detroit hip-hop pioneer’s musical legacy, his mother Maureen (Ma Dukes) Yancey said today.
The Slum Village co-founder (real name: James Dewitt Yancey), known in rap circles as Jay Dee or J Dilla, died at age 32 in 2006 of complications stemming from lupus. Dilla worked as a producer and rapper with some of the hip-hop’s and R&B’s biggest and most influential artists, including Janet Jackson, Common, D’Angelo, the Roots, Erykah Badu and Mos Def.
While some details are still being sorted out, Yancey told the Free Press that the show in the D will include performances by Busta Rhymes, Jay Electronica, Phife of A Tribe Called Quest, along with Phat Kat, Danny Brown and the Nick Speed Orchestra.
On top of the all-star roster, which will grow as the event draws closer, Yancey said Oscar-nominated “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” actress Taraji P. Henson is scheduled to host the festivities, which will be simulcast on the Web. (Free Press attempts to reach Henson’s reps to confirm her participation were unsuccessful on Tuesday.)
“It’s going to be very special to have people right here in Detroit see his name up in lights and embrace his great legacy,” Yancey said of her son. “It’s very special that we’re doing it right here in his hometown. He loved his city.”
Yancey said that on-sale information and other details are still being worked out, but cover for the show will be $20, and portions of the proceeds will go to the J Dilla Foundation and to the production of “Rebirth of Detroit,” a new album of Dilla material scheduled to be released in May through the newly established Yancey Music Group. Marilyn Monroe's Estate Gives Nicki Minaj A Seal Of Approval
What else could be more of an honor for Nicki Minaj
Double Platinum Album. √
Legions of Fans Who Adore You.√
Being a Grammy Nominated Rapper after 1st album. √
Performing with a Music Icon in the Super Bowl. √
Largest Following for any rapper on Twitter. √
Broken Rap Music Records and Music in general. √
A new and unofficial track leaked to the web this week, in which the rapper appears to be channeling Barbie rather than her other male alter ego, Roman. The song is rumored to be titled “Marilyn Monroe” and features Minaj’s sweeter, softer vocals instead of the rapid-fire rhymes we’re accustomed to hearing from her. The snippet of the song has received relatively positive reviews from fans and critics.
However, the biggest compliment besides one coming from Marilyn herself, which we know can never happen, because the beautiful icon left us almost 50 years ago this year. The Official Estate of Marilyn Monroe took to twitter to show their approval of the ballad from the Queens Bred Femcee. Check out the tweet below.
Also, call it a coincidence or not, but the Marilyn Monroe twitter page recently reached enough followers to become verified. Did Nicki Minaj or her song have anything to do with this? Who Knows.
Sound off. Do you like Nicki's song? What do you think about her Estate seal of Approval? Listen to the song here.

Ja Rule Says Prison is "Amazing"
Prison is “amazing” says Ja Rule who revealed that he’s using his two year prison sentence to make friends and expand his network. The Murder Inc. rapper will be locked up until February 2013 following his conviction on a gun possession charge which landed him in Mid-State Correctional Facility in upstate Oneida, New York.
The rapper says that since he began his prison stint in June he’s had the opportunity to meet some individuals that he’d never run into outside of a correctional facility, and Ja Rule’s new crew isn’t exactly what you’d expect to find in a prison as the rapper’s friends are former New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi and former Tyco Internation CEO Dennis Kozlowski. “It’s funny. We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here,” Ja Rule explained to the New York Daily News.
Ja Rule says the two men took him under their wing when he landed in the facility and since then he’s been picking up investing tips and learning about international relations from his new buddies. “Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,” Ja Rule said. “Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here. But they’re both great, smart guys,” the rapper continued.
Hevesi, who earned his Ph.D from Columbia, and Kozlowski, who is a graduate of Seton Hall, prompted the rapper, who dropped out of high school, to look into higher education. Ja Rule took up the challenge and recently obtained his GED. “I was studying for my GED and Koz came in and talked to me and said, if you need any help, let me know,” says the rapper.
Even though the rapper is locked up he’s still readying for the release of ‘Pain is Love 2’ which is due out at the end of the month. The record, which is a sequel to his 2001 album ‘Pain is Love,’ will be his first album in eight years.

Sean Kingston Owes Uncle Sam 6 Figures in back Taxes
Yesterday it was Lil Kim, and now Sean Kingston too? Apparently some celebs have a problem paying the tax man when the season rolls around.
According to TMZ, Kingston -- real name Kisean Anderson -- shorted the government to the tune of $131,379.51 for money he made in 2009 - the same year he released the album Tomorrow.
The feds allegedly warned the singer, "We have made a demand for payment", but since he failed to pay up, the IRS obtained a lien on his property. That means that if Kingston doesn't pay in a hurry the government can go after his possessions.
We'll keep you up on any new developments.

Spend a Mill? No! Pay a Mill. Lil Kim Owes 1 Million Back Taxes
The news isn't looking good for Lil Kim in 2012.
Her fans are threating to shut down the fan websites and now this. Uncle Sam says Kimmy Blanco owes more than 1 million dollars in back taxes. Now with her claims of being the reigning Queen of Rap and a career spanning alomst 20 years you'd think Lil Kim was simply rolling in the dough
Well she’s not.
Because, for the last ten years- the ‘Black Friday‘ Rapper has not been paying her taxes and now owes a seven figure sum to the US Government.
$1,026,862.42
The above figure is
the amount Kim owes to the US Government for not paying her taxes since
2002, despite numerous attempts to retrieve the money owed from her in
recent years.
Maybe if she spent less time worrying about Nicki Minaj and more time on her own problems, she wouldn’t be in this embarrassing situation.
Hopefully she can swipe that whole amount away with her debit card
TMZ explains:
Lil Kim’s tax problems are
well-documented and go back nearly 10 years. According to documents
filed with the L.A. Recorder’s Office, Kim owes money every year from
2002-2009. The 2009 amount, $86347.85, was just recently tacked on — bringing her total $1,026,862.42.
Brooklyn Femcee Lil Kim Fans are Pissed. Threatens to Shut Down Sites
Lil Kim's fans have threatened to shut down their website dedicated to the rapper if she doesn't release new music.
The Brooklyn Femcee was suppose to drop her new single at the beginning of this year, but instead announced that she would be delaying the release to allow her time to support her best friend Floyd Mayweather who will be going to jail for domestic battery later this year.
Pissed Fans fans have demanded that she release new music soon or they will shut down her fan site.
"I wonder will Kim take us seriously if we shut down TeamLilKim like Britney's fan club shut down her site when she was acting crazy," one fan wrote on Twitter.
A Twitter user even compared Kim to her nemisis Nicki Minaj, writing: "I know some of you all dislike or hate Nicki Minaj. But homegirl is at the super bowl and Grammys & etc etc etc.I will always love and respect and support Lil Kim. But I'm not delusional! She needs to get it together!"
Meanwhile, another disgruntled fan wrote: "Where is the holiday EP? You still too busy supporting Floyd in court?"
As a 70's babies in hip hop I have seen this before with Lil Kim, she's going down the same road she went before. Hopefully she makes a change, and gives her fans what they want and deserve, or her career will really be DEAD GHOSTBUSTER.

Kanye West Shooting Film in The Middle East
Kanye West reportedly plans to shoot a short film in the Middle East. According to The New York Observer, the 'Heartless' rapper recently sent several scouts to the Persian Gulf to find potential locations for the project. Sources tell the publication that West's team met with government officials and film companies in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha Qatar, with an apparent "bidding war" taking place between the cities for the chance to produce the film. "In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled," an insider explained.
Sources say the film may be used to not only entertain, but to "bridge" the cultural divide between Eastern and Western world.
While the details behind West's idea for the project have not been revealed, he is apparently looking to shed light on the lifestyle in the Middle East in order to "bridge the cultural divide". "His reps seemed genuinely enthusiastic about creating a piece which highlights the culture accurately. There's a lot of preconceived notions and stereotypes about Emiratis and Qataris, which Westerners often play up," the source explained. "They discussed how Kanye is looking to bridge the cultural divide and break misconceptions."

Drake Being Sued by Ex Over Marvin's Room
File this one under ‘when drunk dialing goes wrong!’ Ericka Lee, Drake’s alleged ex-girlfriend and muse behind his hit song “Marvin’s Room“, is
suing the rapper over her vocals being used on the smash hit record.
Erika is the inspiration for the record and is the voice heard on the
voice mail monologues. She was credited as a “vocalist” on the song
under “Syren Lyric Muse” but has never received any compensation for her
work.
She is claiming that Drake acknowledged her contributions via text messages, which she has saved. Reportedly, they read “U basically made that song” and “It’s sh*t without you.” Big mistake, Drake!
Lee filed a lawsuit against the rapper on July 11, claiming, “My works and voice are used on this work.” About six weeks later, Drake’s label, Cash Money Records made its own claim, saying that the song authored was an “employer for hire.” According to the complaint, Drake later sent a text message to Lee that offered her two percent of “publishing royalties.”
By November, Ericka claims that Drake agreed to meet up with her in Los Angeles to discuss, but when he didn’t keep his word, she hired a lawyer. When Drake found out, he allegedly spazzed out and started making threatening phone calls.
“What the f–k is your problem?” he said to her, according to the complaint, then offering her “4-5%” of publishing monies plus a $50,000 payout to go away.”
Lee is demanding that a judge declare her as co-writer of the song. She’s also seeking damages and disgorgement of profits on allegations of breach of fiduciary duties and unjust enrichment. Lee is represented by Neville Johnson, who previously filed a lawsuit against Drake on behalf of a Playboy Enterprises for sampling an unauthorized sound recording it owned on “Best I Ever Had.”
It looks like Ms. Lee has a good lawsuit on her hands. Drake should have just paid her upfront. Now it looks like it’s going to cost him a lot more money. Crazy how the same lawyer who successfully sued Drake before is back at it. Hey, you know what they say, “Mo’ money Mo’ problems!”

Don Cornelius 75 Dead from Suicide
“Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius was found dead in his Los Angeles home early Wednesday morning. He was pronounced dead after the Los Angeles Fire Department transferred him to a nearby hospital, Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department told The Washington Post. Cornelius was 75. Update, via the Associated Press: He was pronounced dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 4:56 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.
Cornelius launched “Soul Train” in Chicago in 1970 and it quickly became a seminal part of black culture, featuring the hottest music, fashion and dancing. Cornelius hosted the show until 1993 and in addition to his mellifluous voice and of-the-moment style, he became known for his signature sign-off: "I'm Don Cornelius, and as always in parting, we wish you love, peace and soooooouuuuullllllll."
“Soul Train” eventually became syndicated in more than 100 markets. In a 1995 interview with The Washington Post, Cornelius called the show “the godmother and godfather of all black entertainment television.” It “transmitted African American culture to an unbelievably broad audienc,” Lonnie G. Bunch, director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, said recently. “It became this interesting snapshot of several generations of African American culture and style.” Many artifacts from “Soul Train” were donated to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture this past summer.
