A new and unofficial track leaked to the web this week, in which the rapper appears to be channeling Barbie rather than her other male alter ego, Roman. The song is rumored to be titled “Marilyn Monroe” and features Minaj’s sweeter, softer vocals instead of the rapid-fire rhymes we’re accustomed to hearing from her. The snippet of the song has received relatively positive reviews from fans and critics.
However, the biggest compliment besides one coming from Marilyn herself, which we know can never happen, because the beautiful icon left us almost 50 years ago this year. The Official Estate of Marilyn Monroe took to twitter to show their approval of the ballad from the Queens Bred Femcee. Check out the tweet below.
Also, call it a coincidence or not, but the Marilyn Monroe twitter page recently reached enough followers to become verified. Did Nicki Minaj or her song have anything to do with this? Who Knows.
